CTR's lobby is where you'll find the Stock The Storehouse crate for financial gifts to feed the hungry.
You’re invited to help “Stock the Storehouse,” a way we can collect and send men, women and children the nourishing staples they need to survive.
We’re going to tally up what we would have spent and bring it to Christ The Rock’s Stock The Storehouse fund. At the end of March, our donations will be directed to three areas of extreme need:
1. Food for our local Food Pantry
2. A container of beans and rice for Haiti
3. Food and fresh water for the Saharawi refugees in Algeria.
Haiti is the poorest nation in the entire Western hemisphere, and many families can eat the only the barest of meals every second or third day. The global food crisis is predicted to worsen, but we have a chance to provide food to the city of Hinche, the capital of Central Province located in the mountains bordering the Dominican Republic. There the food will be distributed to families who are in dire need.
In Algeria, the Saharawi people are living in refugee camps where food is brought in and fresh water is scarce. We have a chance to provide fresh drinking water through a well-digging program as well as a filtration initiative. Additionally, we help provide fresh produce from gardens in the desert as well as livestock for food and milk.
What About Locally?
Because of the many job losses and the high heating costs in Wisconsin, there are many more families needing extra support to meet their daily needs and provide for their families.
In addition to donating to the Stock The Storehouse fund, you can also bring in nonperishable food items. Whatever we can’t use in the Christ The Rock Food Pantry will be donated to other local food pantries.
What Happens Next?
Christ The Rock now has a Stock The Storehouse fund both online and in our church lobby! You can bring financial gifts for the Stock The Storehouse crate, and also non-perishable food items for our local food pantry display in the lobby.
You can give during weekend services or by going online and clicking on our online giving page. (If you haven’t set up an account, you’ll need to do this before donating.) From there, select “Stock The Storehouse.”
